I can’t believe that December is already over and a new year is beginning. I feel like Thanksgiving just happened and here it is a New Years and I haven’t recovered from November meals yet.
December, though was a good month, full of parties and times with family and friends. We got together as a youth group and played a game called ‘Apples to Apples’ and if you haven’t heard of it or played it, it is worth the purchase. It’s a simple game but it’ll bring some big laughs.
We also finished up our mini-doctrine series on the 5 solas and starting in January we’ll be going through the study The Mission of the Gospel: A Call to Evangelism. We will be learning about how to effectively share the Gospel with people so that God can be made known to all peoples everywhere, and to those here in our own community who may not have heard the good news of Christ.
Hopefully, this will prove to be a good preparation for the mission trip that is being planned for this summer. With the knowledge of why the Gospel and evangelism are important, through the Holy Spirit’s power, I pray that is will spill over into passion for the lost people in our world.
I hope your Christmas and New Year were a great time and that the New Year brings you close to God than ever before. As always, never hesitate to contact me, anytime about anything.

Families of Faith...
Families of Faith will begin on January 7th, with a Lite Meal being served at 5:30pm, with the program running from 6:00 - 7:30pm.
- AWANA Clubs for children through 8th grade.
- The Mission of The Gospel: A Call to Evangelism led by Joe Helt.
- Book Study led by Beth Ronk (title to be announced).
- Gourmet Cooking with Don Groenleer (begins January 14th - see Don for details).
- Knitting Fellowship led by Paula Rock.
- Open Scrapbooking with Robin Reyburn.

AWANA Grand Prix...
The Second Annual First Baptist - Whippoorwill Adult Awana Grand Prix will take place on January 25th, 2:00pm at The First Baptist Church of Rochester.
All adults are invited to participate. Kits can be purchased for $5. The kit includes all the parts required to build your racer plus rules and instructions. Only basic tools are required to build a racer. Refreshments will follow the race.
