CAMPUS MINISTRIES AMERICAN BAPTIST CHURCHES 2019 - The February mission focus correlates to “campus ministries” of the American Baptist Churches. This is a time to think of our own college students and the continuation of their walk with Christ while they are away from home and away from their home church. The “Found” at Purdue University, the “Oasis” at Ball State and Franklin College are just a few of the ministries in place. According to the American Baptist Church website, the “…American Baptist have a long and rich history of enduring conversations and transforming associations with students at American colleges and universities.” Obviously, it’s not just about our youth. It is also about the support for other youth who may first encounter Christ while at school. Can you think of anything better to happen to a young adult as they pursue future goals and dreams? As theologian R.L. Dabney once stated, “The education of children for God is the most important business on earth.” If you are able to contribute to the Campus Ministries of the American Baptist Churches, please make your check payable to the church and mark the memo line for Campus Ministries ABC. Thank you for your prayers for our youth as well as any financial support you might provide!

AMERICAN BAPTIST WOMEN'S SCHOLARSHIP - Scholarship applications are now available in the office for the American Baptist Women’s scholarship. Applications must be mailed to the specified address on the back of the form by February 15th.

MISSIONAIRIES - Carlos Bonilla and Mayra Giovanetti are now working for international ministries in Columbia. Please check out “Acts in Action”, posted on our missions bulletin board. You may find more information on line at www.facebook.com/BGsEtAl

SPECIAL GUEST - MR. MARK BISHOP ON FEBRUARY 10, 2019 - Our friend Mark Bishop will be with us again here at First Baptist, during the morning worship service at 9:30 am. He will share as he describes it, “a number of 4-minute sermons” through the music and lyrics of his songs. Please plan to come and invite a friend to worship on February 10th. This Sunday will be a Family Worship Sunday and children will remain upstairs with their families to hear Mark Bishop. We will not have Children’s Church. Activity bags will be available at the back of the sanctuary and the nursery will be available as usual.

SOUP BOWL SUNDAY ON FEBRUARY 10TH - February 10th A fundraiser hosted by First Baptist Youth Tasting begins after Sunday School. Soups will be judged by everyone in attendance with the winner being determined by which soup receives the most donations. Unlike other elections, ballot box stuffing is encouraged! Plan to join us for food, fun, and fellowship and help the youth raise funds for future activities. Cooks Wanted If you would like to enter your favorite soup, please sign up on the sheet on the Narthex window, or contact Brian or Rhonda Johnson, 223-9690, or Pastor Mark, 223-3613. Each cook is asked to bring a crockpot of soup for everyone to sample. Beverages and dessert will be provided.

FREE MEAL - First Baptist will be hosting the Free Meal at Grace United Methodist Church on Wed., February 20th. Thanks to everyone that provided groceries and came to help in January. This is an outreach mission that continues to grow. We always need additional volunteers to support this important ministry. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s help and financial support. If you would like to make a monetary donation, checks can be written to First Baptist Church with Free Meal written on the memo line.

MEN'S PRAYER GROUP - Men of Rochester, you are invited to join us for men’s prayer group! We will be meeting Monday, February 11th at the First Baptist Church at 7pm. Any man who has an interest in praising God and being encouraged in their faith should attend! Contact Braden Chandler, 223-2367 if you have any questions.
